Values vs Temptation

This post is long overdue, I wanted to write about this after Tiger Woods gave his formal apology . I started writing as well but got caught with other things. This morning as I was driving to work listening to JV Mornings (BTW great show, best way to spend your time on the way to work) JV was discussing whether Jay Z would or has ever cheated on Beyonce. Most Jay Z fans said, hes a successful business man and Beyonce is so beautiful he would never do that, he knows better than to cheat. To which JV said - well Tiger Woods was a smart business man too. Period. And then, 3 women have come forward claiming they had affairs with Jesse James (Sandra Bullock's husband). This got me thinking about how I feel about cheating.

Tiger Woods offers a formal apology.
The real apology will be his behavior. His speech is just words put together by his publicist. I stopped listening after 5 mins cause its all b##s###. Money, fame and gender has nothing to do with human desire. Even a poor infamous guy/girl would cheat.

I was in a relationship where my ex left me for someone else. I can give a bunch of reasons for our break up but the truth is tht 'someone' else was there, when I wasn't. No apology, no action could makeup for how upset I was when he said he liked another woman. That day - it was over for me . Its fine, am over it now. I have moved on so has he, and we are good friends today.

Shit happens in everyone's life and circumstances make you do good/bad things. Tiger's wife played a role in him cheating. You have to clap with 2 hands ;)
I believe that there's a wrong and right in life. But we are all humans and hence do wrong sometimes. So what, shit happens. What's important is you don't hurt another or yourself. Right?

PS: I don't mean to hurt anyone nor am I hating on men. Its just an opinion. Please don't get offended ;)

  1. I can totally agree. Tiger's situation is pretty extreme, but i can actually see in a less extreme situation, a married couple staying together.

  2. Wow ! I seem to have missed this one totally! V V nice writeup! Actually its a practical approach to accept goofups! The way you explained tht circumstances make a person do a right thing or wrong act! No person is evr bad or good! :)

Wow! But again to contradict myself (to be read as " to ) I would like to highlight something called as Conscience .. it helps us get right decisions.. decision turn into actions.. and onus of responsibility is on the decision maker... so if we stck to this principle then no longer situation or"circumstances" can be blamed...

In a medical drama called "HOUSE MD" the protagonist made an emphatic effect on me with following sentence " decisions - sometimes they make you happy, sometimes sad, sometimes angry, sometimes weak and sometimes strong, but ireespective of the consequence it (decisions) always have to be RIGHT! :)
